As a group of like-minded entrepreneurs, aXiomatic Gaming began operations in November 2015 with a mission to build a portfolio of dynamic company holdings in the esports and video gaming industry. Our leadership group of Co-Executive Chairmen Peter Guber, Ted Leonsis, Jeff Vinik and Bruce Karsh together represent an unparalleled brain trust of sports, technology, entertainment and investment industry titans who share one goal — investing in the future of collective, shared digital experiences. Through strategic partnerships, investments and acquisitions, the team connects our partners, including game publishers, esports teams and service providers with valuable resources including venues, technologies, media content, distribution partners and investment capital. We take what we’ve learned from decades of experience entertaining and engaging audiences and help bring best-in-class advice and solutions to the gaming world.
In September 2016, aXiomatic made our first big investment by acquiring a controlling interest in one of the world’s premier esports brands, Team Liquid. Working with this world championship team has given us an authentic perspective into the rapidly-evolving esports audience and industry — and we’re proud that the team has gone on to win multiple championship titles, ink industry-defining partnerships and more. Since then, we’ve expanded our reach with several key investments in genre-defining gaming experiences such as Niantic Inc. and Epic Games, both of whom are setting a new bar for immersive, digital experiences centered on community. We’re proud to support projects and partners big and small as we continue to invest in the future of interactive entertainment and gaming.
